Welcome to the Pond Room for the 2014/15 School Year!

The curriculum and activities in the Pond Room are linked to provide a consistent learning experience for all the children.

ThemesOur theme for the first 2 weeks of school is All About Me and My Family.  Our themes for the entire school year are listed on this website under "School Calendar."

Weekly Newsletters for the Pond Room: Below on this classroom page are our weekly class newsletters and information. You will receive these every week from your child's take-home box as well.

Week of November 3rd -- The children began learning our Thanksgiving songs for our feast day.  Our favorites are the songs with lots of action!  Ten little Children, sung to the tune of Ten little Indians and The Turkey Song, a song with lots of actions

Parents are not required to learn these songs, but if you would like a list of song lyrics, one can be provided to you.  The children also worked on some crafts and art projects that were Transportation themed.

Week of November 10th -- We will continue our Transportation theme with the addition of some Thanksgiving themed art projects as well. We also continue to encourage cooperating with peers during our class time.  I will use large floor puzzles, and new tabletop toys to promote cooperation.

The Scholastic Book Fair Starts November 17, 2014

Parent/Teacher Conferences -- I will begin making appointments for conference calls the week of Thanksgiving.  Please let me know what day works best for you.

Visiting Days Information (information for the 2014/15 visitng days coming soon!)

Parent Visiting Days:  Visiting Days are a time for parents to spend the school day with their child.  They will be  scheduled to take place in early spring and are assigned to families according to the children's small groups. They are intended as a time for interaction, not just observation, and to encourage the participating parent’s involvement in their child's ongoing education.  Please no siblings or use of cell phones during Visiting Days.
